Tokyo, Japan – Fast Track Initiative, Inc. (FTI) today announced the successful closing of Fast Track Initiative Fund IV (Fund IV) with total committed capital of 20 billion JPY (approximately 130 million USD).

FTI is one of the largest healthcare-focused venture funds in Japan with Fund IV marking a significant milestone in FTI’s mission to realize “Capital For Life” – leveraging FTI’s expanding network across Japan and globally to advance innovative medicines and transformative healthcare solutions.

Over 90% of Fund IV’s commitments come from institutional investors, including leading domestic pension funds and financial institutions, alongside strong recommitments from existing Fund III investors. The closing marks a significant milestone for FTI, building on over 20 years of experience investing in healthcare innovation.

From Life Science to Healthcare Value

FTI Fund IV invests across the healthcare innovation spectrum—from early-stage science through clinical validation—supporting companies developing novel medicines for diseases with highest unmet needs.

FTI’s portfolio companies have demonstrated significant healthcare contributions over the past 21 years continuously translating academic breakthroughs into clinical value and healthcare impact. These include 70 programs in pre-clinical development, 19 in clinical development, 24 active clinical trials with 445 patients, and 1 approved product.

Fund IV portfolio includes Regcell, a company developing breakthrough therapies for autoimmune diseases based on regulatory T cell technology pioneered by 2025 Nobel laureate, Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi.
