Sonire Therapeutics, a U.S. based clinical stage medical device company developing high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology for non-invasive cancer treatment, has initiated SUNRISE-II, its first clinical trial in the U.S. for pancreatic cancer.
SUNRISE-II is designed to enroll approximately 10 patients with pancreatic cancer and will evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of Sonire’s ultrasound-guided HIFU system. Building on the company’s development experience in Japan, this study represents an important milestone in Sonire’s U.S. clinical development and regulatory strategy, and a meaningful step toward expanding treatment options in a cancer with high unmet need.
